We’re looking back on some of the beautiful Santorini real wedding stories we’ve shared over the last 21 years and sharing some fond memories and snippets of love stories we’ve played a small part in creating.
From flower filled festivities to intimate gatherings at sunset, the island of love has been one of our most popular destinations as long as we’ve been planning weddings and these memories will show you just how unique each wedding has been.
From our first Zoom from their gorgeous flat with full snowscape in the depth of winter to this love filled day a year a half later. Both bride and groom were involved in every decision which is a first for me, as usually one of the couple will take the lead or the bride will work on some aspects and the groom others. But Erik and Alma discussed all the details together, even the flowers and decoration
‘Our inspiration for the flowers and colours were actually from a wedding in Santorini that we came across on YouTube. We chose fresh local flowers with various colours of pink and white with some greenery. They were so beautiful that words cannot do them justice.’
We love how these flowers turned out and it’s so lovely to see a pop of colour against the Santorini white and blue
This beautiful couple (inside and out) married at the Le Ciel in Imergliovi. This couple were the very essence of style and sophistication, so not surprising they wanted to add a saxophone to play alongside the DJ ! Imagine ‘chilled Ibiza meets splendid Santorini’, resulting in a very cool ‘dance’ vibe.
What an atmosphere!
Not surprising that these moments feature as a best memory.
‘My best memory was everyone on the dancefloor with the Sax under the fairy lights. Everyone was dancing & hugging & picking each other up and just celebrating the day we’d all shared together.’
Santorini real wedding stories come in all shapes and sizes and this one is intimate!
All the way from the states with an intimate party of 15 to celebrate on Dana Villas clifftop terrace. One of my favourite details from this wedding was the embellishment on Danaleesa’s wedding dress and cake, the couples favourite saying,
‘Infinity and beyond’.
The flowers on the gazebo and dinner table Danaleesa brought with her, these were silk and were used at her sister’s wedding, so had sentimental value and the colours worked wonderfully in the setting.
When we first chat with our couples we ask them what their reasoning is for marrying abroad. As you imagine there are some common denominators, but quite often there is a personal story or reason too.
Jess and Joe married at the Santorini Gem and what a vision they were. We asked them what their reason was for marrying abroad.
‘The weather is definitely something that made us decide on an abroad wedding. We absolutely love our wedding photos too, and they say it all, as the views of the Caldera are breathtaking. We are so lucky to have got married in such a beautiful place, and it will be something we will remember forever. All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the day too, and it’s also nice to get a holiday out of it. We stayed for 2 weeks, and got married early on into the holiday, so we had the rest of our holiday to spend with family and enjoy time on our own too. It was perfect.’
One of our favourite parts of my work is enjoying all the photographs from these Santorini Real Wedding Stories. With Jess and Joe the details were magical. Here are some of my favourites.
