Pampas Grass Wedding Decor has been on our mind since we shared an inspiring picture of a wedding arch decorated with Pampas Grass on our instagram resulting in lots of emails about how our brides can incorporate this look in their own wedding.
It certainly looks like this new trend may be around for a while, it works with so many styles, from rustic, to bohemian, you can even glam it up!
With this in mind we thought we’d start by exploring this style by suggesting ways to incorporate this look into your wedding.
A word of warning, before you get excited about Pampas Grass Wedding Decor, consider asking your florist if they can source the grass locally. It might be that if the grass isn’t available in your destination or at the time of your wedding that you’ll need to source it from elsewhere and than can sometimes increase costs.
Your Bouquet
We love the drama that pampas grass adds to a wedding bouquet, this type of grass is very versatile and can actually be dyed different colours/shades, however with a wedding abroad we suggest being cautious here. If you’re expecting very hot or cold temperatures then dyed flowers can bleed and I’m sure that’s not a look you’re going for.
Instead why not embrace the grasses natural colours. You can always add other flowers to include interest through colour if that’s your preference. Leaving you to use the grass as a background or as a focal piece.
Pampas grass is often used dried, so if you’re a bit of a DIY pro and you’ve a suitcase big enough, you could design and bring along your own bouquet!
We love this bouquet featured on Green Wedding Shoes Blog – the pampas grass works amazing next to the soft pink tones of the king Protea

Buttonhole
We absolutely adore these soft textured pampas grass buttonholes. The soft tone would work wonderfully against a white shirt or a deep blue navy or grey suit.
This flower is so versatile, we love how this buttonhole has been given a rustic finish with the straw binding, but could easily be glammed up by adding a row of beading or pearls if you wanted to add a bit of glitz.

Ceremony
If you’re a fan of the ‘Twilight’ saga and fell in love with the forest setting of Bella and Edward’s wedding, but your budget wont extend to 1000’s of flowers dripping from every tree within a mile radius, then I think this romantic designed pampas arch gives a similar whimsical feel.
It’s romantic and looks extravagant, and the good news is it doesn’t have to break the bank.
Grasses are typically cheaper than flowers, especially lilies and orchids, so why not swap out the orchids for a local white flower and you can have a similar look for less.

Centrepiece
If budget’s no options then forget the traditional centrepiece and go for elevated flowers! These do involve more flowers and more construction so that’s where the more expensive price tag comes in, but just look at the drama it creates!
This centrepiece also demonstrates how pampas grass can work just as well with stronger colours like the deep blue featured here. So don’t worry about keeping things completely neutral, experiment. If you really want to incorporate your favourite colour into your wedding then use pampas instead of greenery. As long as you keep the dominant colour minimal then you can still achieve this natural whimsical look.

And just for some added WOW
I decided I had to include this extra look of a ceremony set up.
Just how incredible is this set up?
A look that can only be achieved with this structured yet soft and willowy grass. It’s almost like the tone of the grass matches the sky. I can see this look working in any of our elevated mountainous or sea view venues, dreamily setting off the backdrop.
Not sure I’d ever stop staring if I had wedding photos like these.
