Over to you Chi Chi….
Summer weddings are becoming more and more popular as many brides look to avoid the drizzly rain of the winter months. A sun-drenched wedding makes buying the right dress a little bit easier too. Whether you’re having the ceremony on a gorgeous Spanish beach, a dreamy Greek island or the stunning Cornish coastline, there are plenty of dresses for brides, bridesmaids, mums and guests to have some fun with.
Brides
We’d be lying if we said brides weren’t the most important part of the wedding. Most brides grow up dreaming of their perfect wedding, which makes it extra important to find the right dress. A pure white wedding dress offers something undeniably beautiful while using a tried and tested neutral tone. If the sun is shining, that stunning colour becomes even more vivid. A lace design fused with a midi style is a great way to modernise your bridal look – not to mention that the sand won’t mess up your dress! Looking for something slightly more extravagant? Bodice maxi dresses will add some elegance to your bridal look as you’re walking down the aisle.
It seems that pastel colours are here to stay, we love this blush
pink dress, sparkly and flattering for almost any silhouette.
Bridesmaids
Trust us – if you can get your bridal party looking chic, every part of your wedding will fall neatly into place. As opposed to a bridal dress, bridesmaid dresses have a little more wiggle room when it comes to experimentation. A wedding abroad also adds to that playfulness, so we’d suggest going for some bright and bold colours. A gorgeous blue, green or red can add some contrast to your wedding theme, while also complementing your own dress. A satin slip maxi dress will keep things simple while imbuing your wedding with elegance.
For mum’s we love this comfortable maxi dress that
picks up two trends this year, pastel pink and floral prints!
Mums
Mum knows best when it comes to…. well, everything. Mother of the bride dresses should be gorgeous, chic and beautifully bold, especially when you’re abroad. Fusing contemporary design with traditional styles, embroidered designs are the best way forward for mums looking over their daughter’s big day. There’s also space to play with a variety of colours too. If you’re going to a wedding in the sun, why not go for a pretty pink? Whether you choose a darker or lighter shade, pink dresses look gorgeous when the sun is shining. We’d recommend going for a chic crochet design with a frill dip hemline to really blow away the wedding guests.
Guest outfits
If you’ve been lucky enough to be invited to a wedding abroad, it’s only right to dress to your max. A maxi dress is perfect for those warm wedding evenings, giving you a gorgeous glint that suits a ceremony abroad down to the ground. We’d also recommend going for a floral pattern to complete the look. From big flower designs to smaller daisy patterns, there’s no shortage of choice when it comes to a floral dress. If you’re looking for something a bit more ‘out there’, a wrap midi style with a traditional polka dot design is perfect for those less formal weddings. Pair up any of these dresses with some delightful white heels and you’ll have a wedding guest dress to die for.
Whether the wedding ceremony is being held underneath a palm tree in the Caribbean or a beach in Devon, a sun-drenched summer wedding always increases the excitement.
