We had no wedding planning stress, everything was relaxed and the day ran better than I could have imagined.
Venue Private Villa Wedding Greece• Date 28th June 2019 • Number of Guests 70 • Budget £££
Why did you choose the A villa wedding Greece?
We have always loved Greece so we knew we wanted to marry there. We also were looking for a private venue where we could stay for the duration of our holiday. Once we saw the details of the Luxury Private Villa wedding Greece, we knew it was the perfect venue for us, nothing else could beat it.
How long in advance did you book your villa wedding Greece?
We booked the wedding 2 weeks after we got engaged which was 15 months before we got married.
How many guests did you invite and how many accepted and attended?
We invited around 120 guests and 70 accepted.
Tell us about your dress
My dress was Augusta Jones, and it only took a couple of dresses to know that this was the one, I got goosebumps when I had it on so I knew it was perfect.
And your accessories?
I didn’t have many accessories just my shoes which were Dune and the veil was Ronald Joyce.
We love the grooms more casual look, who was the designer?
We wanted a relaxed wedding so went down the more casual route with Steve’s suit. He had a jacket and shirt from Reiss and trousers from River Island. My brother and brother in law had the same, our little boy had a shirt and shorts from next.
The bridesmaids looked beautiful tell us about their dresses.
The bridesmaids dresses were a very pale blue colour and were an absolute bargain from the Debenhams sale! Our Flower girls dress was from Chi Chi.
Tell us about your bouquet
I have always loved Peonies so I knew I wanted them in my bouquet, along with lots of greenery. When I got handed my bouquet I almost cried because it was so beautiful, it was exactly what I wanted.
Did you have a theme for your wedding?
The setting of the Villa wedding Greece was beautiful enough so we went for minimal decoration so to not take away from the views. We wanted a simple, elegant but slightly rustic theme to compliment the villa. Our colours were mostly white and a little bit of pale blue.

Our wedding cake was amazing! We opted for a specially made 2 tiered semi naked cake which was decorated with beautiful flowers on top, it tasted delicious too.
We wanted as much choice as possible for our guests for dinner so we had quite a few different dishes. Greek food is amazing anyway but this food was outstanding, almost everyone went for seconds and thirds!
I had decided to take a few decorations with me for the wedding, so for the tables we had some olive branch and eucalyptus garlands that surrounded the lanterns which were provided by the wedding planners, it was simple but looked beautiful.
Our men’s favours – small bottle of ouzo were provided by the wedding planners, we just had some little personalised tags to add to them. For the women I wanted to bring a bit of fun to the wedding party so they had face jewels which they put on later that evening. All the younger children had personalised activity packs.
We opted for the Greek band which was a brilliant choice, they were so good and got everyone up dancing just after the ceremony, I would definitely recommend them.
Later that evening we had a DJ who again was great and didn’t scoff at any of my song requests! He got everyone up dancing right up until the last song.
Did you stick to your original budget or go over/or even stay under?
We didn’t really have a budget, but we were happy with the amount we had spent, it wasn’t overly excessive and for what we had it was amazing value.
What’s your best memory from the day?
My best memory is walking down the aisle to see Steve waiting for me at the end, all my nerves and emotions disappeared as soon as I saw him and we just had the biggest smile the whole time. Having all our family and friends there was truly amazing, to know they had made such an effort to be there with us meant everything. Another favourite thing from the day was the fact that the wedding ceremony ( which was only 10 mins long – perfect!) was said in both English and Greek, I wasn’t really expecting that but it made it even more special and I felt like a local 🙂
What do you think makes a wedding abroad stand out from a wedding in the UK?
I think a wedding abroad is just much more relaxed, everyone is there on holiday and it means you can see them before and after the wedding if you want to, it’s not just for one day. We hired 2 boats the day before the wedding and had an amazing boat trip, it meant everyone could get to know each other before the day too.
Also depending on the location, the weather is usually a lot warmer than the UK, so you can more or less rely on the fact that it’s going to be a nice day, there’s not worry about whether it’s going to rain or not! Not in Greece anyway.
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad?
Definitely go abroad! You won’t regret it, we had no wedding planning stress, everything was relaxed and the day ran better than I could have imagined. Everything was so organised and we had 2 brilliant wedding planners on the day helping sort everything out. I would highly recommend Luxury Private Villa Keri itself, it’s a beautiful small village but with everything you need there and the villa is out of this world.
