Emma and Kevin
If anyone can handle last minute unforeseen drama then Emma and Kevin are true pro’s. The planning itself was pretty straightforward, mainly due to the fact Emma was very ‘on the ball’ with her information, a planners dream you could say.
But no one could forsee the forest fires that captured the world this year in Europe, especially those in Rhodes, for a few days it was quite a worry, luckily we had our team on the ground keeping us updated incase we had to make any last minute changes. We sent the couple videos from Rhodes Town to assure them it was very much ‘business as usual’ on the North of the Island and I’m delighted to say the wedding went ahead, largely unaffected.
The wedding was a roaring success with one of the happiest dance parties we’ve had this year! We’re absolutely thrilled Emma and Kevin got to share their wedding day with us in Rhodes.
We invite you to enjoy the couples incredible photographs and read Emma’s insightful answers about her wedding planning experience and her wedding day.
Why did you choose to get married in Rhodes at the gorgeous Sheraton Hotel?
We loved the venue. We wanted to get married with a sea view back drop, but not necessarily on the beach. We had over 70 guests, so we were limited to venues as not all venues catered for this amount, we noticed the Sheraton had area big enough for our numbers and had a gorgeous terrace with a sea view back drop. – It was the perfect venue for us!
How many guests did you invite to your wedding and how many attended?
We invited around 100 guests, 72 guests actually made the wedding – only 1 family of four dropped out due to the wildfires going on in Rhodes the week before our wedding!
Tell us about your stunning dress.
My dress was by Stella York. – I knew exactly what style I wanted from the very beginning – overall I think it took me a few months to find the right one, I went to about 5 bridal shops, but I actually saw the dress I wanted online, and searched for a bridal shop near me that were stockists. – I eventually found it at Brides of Chester.
And your accessories?
My shoes I found online, knew exactly what I wanted. My accessories – I wore my mums ring (which was my something borrowed & something blue), I wore a Say it With Diamonds tennis bracelet my bridesmaids got me as a gift & tear drop earrings to match my engagement ring.
Tell us about Kevin’s very dapper suit.
Kev bought his suit and all his groomsmen. It was bought from Leonard Silver.
Where did you find the bridesmaids dresses?
My bridesmaid dresses were from ASOS. – They were a champagne blush colour, and satin material. – We needed something loose and light to cope with the 30+ degree heat!
Tell us about your flower choice?
My flowers, they were always going to be green & white – I wanted a classy, modern look. – And I love gypsophila so they were always going to be included!
What’s your best memory from the day?
The speeches. The ceremony. The evening. Just everything, it really was the best day with all our loved ones – I wish we could do it all over again!
What do you think makes a wedding abroad stand out from a wedding in the UK?
The weather.. the vibe.. your guests mood and the cost! – Everything! You get to holiday with your guests too if they are fortunate enough to stay a couple of days, I would definitely recommend getting married abroad.
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad?
Just do it! – All the planning is worth it and Lisa and the team are great and take everything into their hands. – The “high” from getting married abroad lasts way longer when your away with your friends and family and you get to create memories that last a lifetime.
Thankyou again Lisa for the best wedding we could have asked for! – It really was the best day – honestly wish we could just replay it all again! Thankyou
