‘The whole day – Nothing went wrong at all. I genuinely can’t chose one best memory’
Venue Le Ciel Santorini Wedding • Date 23rd of July 2021 • Number of Guests 23 • Budget ££
Why did you choose to get married in Santorini?
It has always been a dream of mine to get married in the “most romantic place in the world” The white buildings and blue roofs sold it for me, plus the sun of course.
How long in advance did you book your wedding?
18 Months In total however it doesn’t actually take that long so this can be achieved sooner depending on how quickly or slowly you want to move.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding and how many accepted and attended?
I invited 25 guests and in total 23 of us flew out. One of the reasons I wanted to get married abroad was so that I didn’t want a large crowded wedding.
Your incredible dress, how did you find the perfect one?!
As we were in lockdown I couldn’t visit shops so I chose my dress online and tried it on at home – It had sleeves and I went with the first one I tried on and with a few alterations from a seamstress it fitted like a glove.
And your accessories?
Shoes….. Well I wore flip flops because it was so much comfier than heels and it was far too hot for shoes so I went for the comfiest option
My tiara from Somerset Bridal and earrings from Claire’s accessories – cheap and cheerful
And the Grooms suit?
All suits were purchased from the Suit Culture – again all online but loved them from day one.
Where did you find the gorgeous bridesmaid dresses?
I found my bridesmaid dresses from Etsy, I knew exactly what I wanted from the outset so it was really easy to find.
How did you choose the colours and flowers for your bouquet.
I told Lisa the colour theme I had and she matched them up perfectly. I know nothing about flowers so I left it to the Bridal experts
Did you have a theme?
Just rose gold and white that was it, I think I’m the most easiest going bride ever!!
Can you tell us about the finer details of the day?
The wedding cake was exactly like the photo I provided and it tastiest equally as nice. We had a simple traditional menu and everyone loved it.
My favours and all the accessories were rose gold and sourced on Etsy.
I used Illuminography for the MR and Mrs Lights / Mirror which were perfect.
How did you find the planning experience from booking to the big day?
Lisa gave me lots of positive vibes throughout and kept me calm after I wanted to reschedule every time I had a wobble.
It was a very uncertain time but we got there in the end.
What’s your best memory from the day?
The whole day – Nothing went wrong at all. I genuinely cant chose a particular part.
What do you think makes a wedding abroad stand out from a wedding in the UK?
The scenery and views are incredible and you also have the additional excitement of a combined holiday.
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad?
Do not hesitate – do it!!
