The day was everything I imagined and it was beautiful from start to finish!’
Venue Panoramic View, Crete • Date 2nd of June 2022 • Number of Guests 23 •
A sweet love story.
Chloe and Tom said their I’do’s on a beautiful cliff top private garden with the most amazing sea views and this is their story.
See below…..
A private garden with an elevated sea view with the most incredible landscaping.
I arrived mid set up and was immediately WOWED by the venue.
The venue is the creation of a wedding and event florist and you can tell. The layout is carefully considered and no detail is overlooked.
The design is so cleverly thought out that it can comfortably accommodate up to 120 guests, but also works perfectly for intimate weddings, like ours today.
The ceremony terrace is next to the cliff edge to make the most of the dramatic ocean view, the middle area is for the DJ, dance floor and bar and the palm tree lined reception area sit’s just behind, perfect for a romantic sunset dinner.
The toilets and caterer areas are hidden away behind tall treelined hedges. The lush planting whilst formal in design is easy and relaxed and creates different back drops for each area and is so established, looks like it’s always been there.
This venue was originally due to host its first wedding in 2020, so this is the first year it really welcomes couples and the two years the garden has been left to mature makes it even more spectacular. So in this instance, maybe Covid worked in it’s favour!
Dare we say that?
The wedding
Tom the Groom immediately recognised my Yorkshire accent(at this point I’d worked mainly with Chloe), they themselves being from Lancashire the conversation was a plenty and flowed effortlessly, and I can honestly this is one of the friendliest parties I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Even the suppliers kept commenting on how lovely the guests were.
Everyone was so excited and ready to celebrate.
For anyone who wants to make an entrance this is THE venue for you, it’s got to be the longest aisle I’ve ever seen. And well…..Chloe in her spectacular dress with arm veils looked like a vision as she made her way down to meet Tom, carefully assisted by her Dad.
This was an emotional day, and the mayor (who was fashionably late) made sure the ceremony was jovial and ‘short and sweet’ (his words). Sensing the couple wanted to get on with the celebrations.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sax player have so much fun at a wedding, he interacted perfectly with the guests and they LOVED it.
We suggested delaying dinner by 30 minutes due to the very hot sun that day and lack of breeze, when dinner was served the sun was the perfect height and temperature.
The sunset here rivals anything I’ve seen around the world and sets perfectly across from the dining area (like I say, the planning here of the layout is brilliant)
Chloe chose a blue colour scheme which worked so well with the lush planting and mirrored the clear blue sky that day.
One of my favourite details was the palm trees that the couple draped with fairylights. They provided such an awesome contrast as the sun set and provided a wonderful warm ambience to dinner.
The bride chose the most beautiful table centrepieces in blue hydrangea and white lisiansthus, the same flowers were used on the ceremony gazebo but with the additional of delphiniums to give a trailing affect. Just genius.
We shipped in the perfect shade of blue table cloths from Athens, they complimented the flowers perfectly.
Candles were lit at sunset and really set the tables off beautifully.
Dinner was traditional Greek starters served Meze style with lamb main.
The dancing started before the end of dinner and from what I understand carried on until the early hours.
It was an incredible day, filled with love, laughter and lots of happy tears. I feel so privileged that I got to be there on the day.
Thank you both for allowing us to play a part in your wedding story.
In their words
We chose Crete for our destination as this is where we got engaged in September 2020, as soon as I saw the venue on your website I fell in love with the views and just visioned how perfect it would be for us to take family and friends back to the island to celebrate our wedding, and it really was so special.
|The Details |
Chloe’s Dress
My wedding dress was Nadia by Enzoani’s ‘Blue’ range. Ironically it was the first dress I tried on in the first shop! I instantly fell in love, I tried a few more dresses on but just kept comparing them all back to Nadia, so I knew it was the perfect dress. I loved how the dress had detachable veils off the shoulder, they gave a beautiful dramatic entrance but I had the option to detach them for the evening when having a dance with the guests!
Chloe’s Shoes
With being on a grassed venue, I opted against the stilettos as wedding shoes as I knew that would be a disaster waiting to happen! I chose some white flat sandals with white pearls over the front, from Quiz. I appreciated the flats especially by the end of the night when I was still able to dance away and could see the people in heals suffering!
Chloe’s Jewellery
With my dress being such a statement I opted against any necklaces or excessive jewellery. I was savvy and used my earrings as my “something old” and wore a pair of my nana’s diamond stud earrings, she’s no longer with us so it was comforting that I was able to take a part of her to our big day.
Bridesmaid dresses:
These were chosen from ASOS, we went for a pastel blue colour with being a ‘sea view’ venue, the colours really did blend beautiful with the ocean backdrop!
Grooms suit:
The grooms suit, best man, father of the bride and back up best man (as the original best man’s passport only arrived 4 days before the flight!!!) were all from Cavani. We wanted a light material with it being so hot, and the tan colour really suited Tom as soon as he tried it on so we knew this was the one!
Stationary:
We designed our own seating plan and had this professionally printed. We ordered our cake topper from Etsy, along with our table place cards, and our favours.
Wedding Tip
One thing I would highly recommend is taking along disposable cameras for the wedding. We took one and can’t wait to have the photos developed, we only remembered about the camera late into the night do after everyone had a couple of drinks so I imagine there will be some great shots which will have us laughing!
