Why did you choose to a Dana Villas Santorini Wedding in particular?
Santorini had always been a bucket list location for us to visit. Within a few weeks of getting engaged, I was playing a tennis match, my opponent spotted my engagement ring and started sharing his story of his wedding in Santorini and The Bridal Consultant. I got in contact with Lisa who sent over some options and we fell in love with Dana Villas and its option of staying in the honeymoon suite.
How long in advance did you book your wedding?
Around 1 year before.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding and how many accepted and attended?
We invited 24 guests and all attended.
Tell us more about your dress and how you found the perfect one…
I bought my dress from Wed2Be, it was the 5th dress I tried on and my second visit to the store.
Did you accessorize?
We kept our accessories simple and let the scene take main focus. We each bought each other a watch as wedding presents. My bridesmaids had matching necklaces.
What about the groom? What did he wear?
The groom purchased his suit from Marks and Spencers.
And the bridesmaids?
They were blue from That Special Day.
The brides bouquet, what flowers did you choose and why?
We requested for the flowers to be blue and white to fit in with the location.
Did you theme your wedding?
We didn’t have a theme, we knew that the view was amazing and took into consideration that Santorini is known for its white building and blue roofs.
Tell us about the smaller details of your Dana Villas Santorini Wedding?
We didn’t have a cake, we went with a traditional Greek menu to which all guests enjoyed and commented on.
For wedding favours we had DIY wedding chairs made from card, to which the bottom of the chair had a place to put in the wedding favour, in here we included a stone from Persia beach which we wrote on.
What’s your best memory from the day?
Entering the reception to all our family and friends as Mr & Mrs Wells.
What do you think makes a wedding abroad stand out from a wedding in the UK?
The hassle free/stress free planning and wedding day.
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad?
If you are getting married abroad use The Bridal Consultant, their staff are extremely lovely and helpful. They think of everything and do everything to make sure you have a special day.
