Why did you chooseto have an Intimate Beach Wedding in Zante.
We always wanted a Greek destination wedding. We contacted The bridal Consultant for advice and inspiration. Lisa showed us lots of stunning venues but we both fell in love Cameo Island and Agios Sostis and set our hearts on them straight away.
How long in advance did you book your wedding?
18 Months.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding and how many accepted and attended?
We invited 45 of our closest friends and family. 38 attended.
Your dress is beautiful! What make was this and how many shops did you visit before finding ‘the one’?
I loved dress shopping and I knew exactly the style of dress I wanted. Me and my bridesmaid visited around 4 shops before finding my perfect dress. It was a Paloma Blanca Satin mermaid empire cut gown, beaded Guipure lace bodice and appliqués framing the low back. It had beaded spaghetti straps with a fit and flare satin skirt, swarovski buttons and chapel Train. I fell in love with it there and then.
What about your shoes, where were these from?
I wore a white satin peep toe sandal with a 4” heel from ASOS.
Kurt looks great in his attire! Where was this purchased?
We thought a full suit would be too hot. So, we just went for a white shirt with blue pants, waistcoats and pale pink ties from Next for the groom and groomsmen.
What about your bridesmaids, what did they wear?
My bridesmaids wore a slim fitting, beaded low back dress from ASOS. I loved how elegant they looked.
Your bouquet, what flowers did you choose and why?
I selected an all roses upgrade for my bouquet in pale pinks to match our colour scheme.
Did you theme your wedding?
Our colour scheme was pale pinks and white. We wanted everything to be plain with a relaxed atmosphere. The views are the best decoration you could wish for.
Tell us about the smaller details you added to personalise your Intimate Beach Wedding in Zante.
We selected the meze meal option, it was amazing! Greek chicken, beef stifado, lamb kleftiko, meatballs, calamari, Greek potatoes, moussaka, Greek salad, bread and dips. Our guests couldn’t believe the amount of food being served and how delicious is all was, I would 100% recommend it.
Our cake was stunning too. We had a 2 tier naked wedding cake with berries which was served as dessert and went down a treat.
We made personalized bags for the guests, filled with favours (flip flops, fans, lip balm, soaps, ouzo) and made activity packs for the children, filled with goody’s (foam airplanes, sweets, colouring pens, jigsaws, rings, tiaras, football games and yo-yos) to keep them entertained.
We compiled a playlist for the music throughout the day and into the evening. We asked each guest to select 3 songs then included all of our favourite songs, this worked out amazingly well. Our guests commented on how good the music was and everyone was trying to guess who picked what song.
How did you find the planning experience from booking to the big day?
The planning of everything was so easy. We did the fun part and left the stressful side to the professionals (thank you Sasha and Matt) .
What’s your best memory from the day?
Seeing Kurt stood at the bottom of the aisle smiling at me, I couldn’t wait to see him. We also took minutes out at the reception and stood watching everyone dancing, laughing and having a good time. It was lovely to watch everyone having fun.
What do you think makes a wedding abroad stand out from a wedding in the UK?
Where do I start…. the views are stunning. The weather is amazing. We felt like the wedding went on for the whole holiday and not just the day. Everything is much more relaxed, I mean where else would you be sunbathing the day before you get married.
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad?
Don’t worry about the small things. Your wedding planner knows exactly what they’re doing, just trust them and take some timeout with your new husband to take in the day.
