‘My best memory would be seeing Mitch’s face and him wiping away his tears! Also my dad pulling my veil back at the top of the aisle, that was very special!’
Venue Cas Mila, Ibiza • Date 4th of May 2018 • Number of Guests 65 • Budget ££
We loved your Bohemian Beach Wedding , can you tell us why you chose this venue in particular?
We chose to get married abroad and when looking at different l ocations nothing was screaming out at me, until I decided to google weddings in Ibiza and instantly fell in love with the Sea View Terrace and knew straight away that was where we were getting married!
How long in advance did you book your wedding?
It was around 18/20 months before.
How many guests did you invite to your wedding and how many accepted and attended?
We invited 70 guests and had 65 attend!
Your dress is so beautiful and elegant! Tell us about how you found ‘the one’…
My dress was Ronald Joyce! Funny story as it was actually my second dress as I changed my mind on the first one. I tried the dress l wore on my wedding day first in the UK and fell in love, I didn’t want to commit straight away as I was going on a family holiday to Florida and having a wedding dress shopping day! I had 6 ladies with me and I think I got quite overwhelmed and ending up saying yes to a dress in Davids bridal. When I brought it home I couldn’t stop thinking about the Ronald Joyce dress! I kept quiet for around 2 months until I couldn’t anymore and cried to my mum explaining I thought I’d made a mistake, she said straight away we will be going back and trying the Ronald Joyce dress on as she just wants me happy, we went back and both new the Ronald Joyce was always the one! I still have the other one sitting at home!
What about your shoes and accessories? Where were these from?
My shoes were from Debenhams by No.1 Jenny Packham. My jewellery was quite minimalistic, I wore little stud earrings which my lovely nanna bought me from Pandora and on my wrist I had my mums diamond bracelet which was my something borrowed!
Mitch looks so smart in his suit. Where was this purchased?
We purchased the suits as the men were wearing them again at our UK party when we got home, the suits were from ASOS and the shirts were Charles Tyrwhitt. The groom, father of the groom and father of the bride had waistcoats and suit jackets however the best men and ushers just had waistcoats.
Your bridesmaids looked lovely in their dresses! Where were these from and were you happy with your choice?
The bridesmaids dresses were one of the first things I purchased without even having my venue booked! They were blush pink with some embellishments from ASOS. I knew what I wanted from the beginning so once I found them I just brought them straight away.
What flowers did you choose for your bouquet? Were you happy with the result?
I chose roses and gypsophila, I just think they are so simple and beautiful and the minute I saw my bouquet I just loved it!
Can you tell us about your wedding theme?
I tried to go quite simple and minimalistic, blush pink was the main theme, the men were in light grey and the flowers were cream with some greenery. The tables just had silver sequin table runners, the venue and location was so beautiful I felt it didn’t need too much!
We’d love to hear about the smaller details you added to create your bohemian beach wedding.
Our wedding cake and cupcakes were cream and blush pink, again simple and minimalistic!
Our menu was lovely, we had a beautiful prawn cocktail to start with a chicken dish for main, the presentation was amazing and all our guests commented on how delicious the food was!
Our favours were little packs of sweets, alternate with haribo love hearts and strawberry and cream sweets.
Our name cards were made out of champagne and prosecco corks, with little white bows, which we made ourselves, all our guests know our love for bubbles! It didn’t take long to collect the corks!
We always knew we wanted a saxophonist on the day of our wedding and it was lovely to have during our drinks reception, perfect fitting for an Ibiza wedding!
How did you find the planning experience from booking to the big day?
The planning and booking was very calm, Lisa made the experience very easy and smooth so thank you so much! We couldn’t have done it without you! The last 2 weeks before we flew to Ibiza seemed to be the most stressful as you need to pack for a holiday as well as not forgetting anything important for the big day!
Do you have a favourite memory from the day?
My best memory would be seeing Mitch’s face and him wiping away his tears! Also my dad pulling my veil back at the top of the aisle, that was very special!
What do you think makes a wedding abroad stand out from a wedding in the UK?
There’s something just so special being abroad with all your closest family and friends! Being on holiday always puts you in a good mood with the sun, food and drink so it’s even better to get married too!
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms who are getting married abroad?
Just relax and enjoy it with all your closest family and friends, everything will work out perfectly in the end!
